saprolegniasis
a fungal infection from Saprolegnia, Aphanomyces and Achlya, usually a secondary infection after skin damage or scale loss but also affecting eggs in hatcheries. Appears as white to brown cottony or hairy patches on the skin, fins and gills. Death may occur if the gills are obstructed
